Mr. Karan Singh Thakral, Executive Director of Thakral Group of Companies, Singapore, has a diversified experience in various business activities. A born entrepreneur, Mr. Thakral got his first business lessons in his very early age when he entered his family business as a young teenager. He picked up the business skills more so in the Trading and Distribution activities from the elders in the family and developed the necessary business acumen in his early age.
Starting from the textiles trading and distribution, he was instrumental in starting the Electronics business of the Group in Singapore and later expanded it to the neighbouring South-East Asian Countries and UAE. His experience in this line led him to Hong Kong to establish Family business of Electronics over there which latter was useful in developing into a listed company with main activity of Distribution of Consumer Electronics. His skills in textiles helped him in taking control of the two large Yarn manufacturing organizations specialising in high quality yarn and embroidery. His line of activities expanded to Italian Joint venture in High quality ready-made garments (formal range). He is actively involved in the activities of a Mumbai and National Stock Exchange listed major player in complete range of the logistics and Rail Freight Services - Gateway Distriparks Ltd.
In addition to above his current business profile also includes his active participation in real estate & infrastructure projects and is more focused on Indian activities.
A firm believer in God's Grace, Mr. Thakral is believes in extending whatever help possible to those who are comparatively lesser fortunate than us. He devotes a lot of time to the social activities which again are quite diversified. some of his non-business activities include: Chairman of TiE Singapore Chapter; Chairman Guru Harkishan Hospital & Medical Trust; Trustee Justice Onkar Singh Free Legal Aid Service; President, International Punjabi Chamber of Service Industry;
